OUR SERVICES

VETERINARY SERVICES

We provide a wide range of veterinary services to meet your pet's needs. We promise to provide every service with a smile, and to your highest level of satisfaction.

Surgical Services

We are equipped to perform a variety of soft-tissue surgeries. Prior to going under anesthesia, all pets will have blood work done to ensure healthy organ function and detect any underlying illness that could prevent them from recovering from the procedure. We have state-of-the-art equipment that monitors the patient’s heart rate, oxygen level, temperature, blood pressure and administers intravenous fluid therapy. Pain management is our upmost priority which means your pet will receive medication before and after the surgery to ensure optimal comfort. Some of our soft-tissue procedures include:

Ovariohysterectomy (Spay)
Castration (Neuter)
Mass Removals
Enucleation
Bowel Obstruction Surgery
 Pyometra Removal
Amputations
Orthopedic TPLO
Perineal Urethrostomy

Diagnostic Services

We offer a full-spectrum of medical services, and it all starts with the diagnostic exam. If your pet isn’t feeling their best, our doctors can perform a diagnostic examination to help determine the cause of their illness. We are able to run many of the necessary tests in-house, providing you with results the same day. Other tests may be required to be sent to an outside laboratory, with results coming back as soon as the next day, or in some cases, a bit longer. A few of our in-house diagnostic modalities include:

Digital Whole Body + Dental X-ray
Ultrasound
In-House Laboratory Testing
Reference Laboratory Testing
ECG + Doppler Monitoring

Technician Services

Our skilled veterinary technicians are qualified to provide your pet with many types of services. In most cases, for your pet to come in for a visit with a technician, they must first be established with as a patient. Afterward, we offer appointments with technicians for the following services:

Nail Trims (Your pet requires a current rabies certificate.)
Anal Gland Expressions
Vaccines for adult dogs/cats that have had an exam by our Doctors within the year:

DAPP

Preventative Wellness

At Riverside Veterinary, we believe that preventative medicine is crucial to maintaining your pets’ overall health and well-being. Some of our services we provide and recommend for dogs or cats each year are:
Physical Wellness Exam
This is a comprehensive examination by a veterinarian to ensure your dog or cat is healthy and no new medical concerns are detected. Veterinarians are required by law to perform this exam once a year on healthy pets in order to prescribe medications, including preventatives.

Vaccinations
Vaccinations are an important veterinary service that help keep our community's pets and humans healthy and provide aid for transmissible disease prevention. Select the Vaccines + Prevention link below to learn more about Riverside Veterinary's vaccine care.

Preventative Diagnostic Testing
Intestinal Parasite Screen – (Dogs and cats) We support the recommendations of the AVMA and CDC and recommend at least once a year intestinal parasite screens. Our pets (even inside pets) can contract intestinal parasites many different ways including hunting (rodents, birds, insects) and exposure to areas where other animals have been.

Heartworm Test – (Dogs yearly, cats when needed) There have been some strains of drug resistant heartworms that have developed in the US. The FDA and our Veterinarians believe it is important to the health of your dog to ensure that the heartworm prevention you use is protecting your pet by doing a yearly check for microfilaria in their blood. If you’ve missed even one dose of prevention, your pet should be checked before starting prevention again.

Young Wellness Panel – (Kittens, Puppies, Young Adults) This is a baseline blood panel recommended for all dogs and cats under 1 year of age. It checks to see if all organ systems are healthy and serves as a valuable reference as your pet gets older.

Adult + Senior Wellness Panel – (Dogs and cats) This is a comprehensive blood panel that is recommended yearly for all dogs and cats over 1 year of age. Having bloodwork done for geriatric pets is crucial for longevity, early detection of disease and management of conditions.

Feline Leukemia/FIV Testing – (Cats) Feline leukemia and FIV are two highly contagious viral diseases that affect cats. Kittens can become infected in the womb and adult cats can contract it from interactions with other cats. Our Veterinarians recommend testing all kittens at their first visit and then all cats that spend any time outside yearly thereafter.

Puppy and Kitten Care

Riverside Veterinary believes in early prevention and wellness for all our puppies and kittens. We offer puppy and kitten packages that provide your new addition with behavior assessments, vaccines, baseline blood work, viral + parasite testing, and encourages comfort and familiarity in the veterinary setting from an early age.
