DAPP Vaccine – (Dogs) This is a combination vaccine containing Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. It is considered a core vaccine for all puppies and is then given according to age and previous vaccination history.
Leptospirosis Vaccine – (Dogs) This is a zoonotic (contagious to humans) disease transmitted to us through our dogs from the urine of wildlife (raccoons, foxes, rodents). Nevada is a fabulous place full of wildlife, so our Veterinarians consider this vaccine important for all dogs.
Bordetella Vaccine – (Dogs) Bordetella is a bacteria that causes respiratory infections. This vaccine is important for dogs that go to grooming, boarding, training and dog parks.
Rabies Vaccine – (Dogs and cats) This is the only vaccination legally required. The frequency of administration is based on age and previous vaccination history. Rabies is a fatal viral disease that attacks the central nervous system and is zoonotic (contagious to humans).
Canine Influenza Vaccine – (Dogs) Influenza is the virus that causes the flu. This vaccine is important for dogs that go to grooming, boarding, training and dog parks. The vaccine we use protects against the strains found in Nevada and California.
Rattlesnake Vaccine – (Dogs) This vaccine helps to reduce the life-threatening effects of all crotalis species snakes (rattlesnakes, copperheads). You will still need to seek immediate veterinary care for your dog if bit. We only recommend this vaccine for dogs that have a high likelihood of encountering a rattlesnake.
Lyme's disease is a tick-borne disease caused by bacteria Borrelia burgdoferi.This results in rashes, fever and fatigue. With a large tick population in the area, our Veterinarian's strongly encourage the vaccine in addition to preventative medications.
FVRCP Vaccine – (Cats) This is a combination vaccine containing: Feline Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia. This vaccine is considered a core vaccine for all kittens and is then given according to age, lifestyle and previous vaccination history.
FeLV Vaccine – (Cats) Feline Leukemia Virus is a contagious disease transmitted by other cats. Kittens can become infected in the womb and adult cats can contract it from interactions with other cats. Our doctors recommend it for all kittens and then based on lifestyle and previous vaccination history.
